Contact us. You can send an email using the link on the Contact Us page, or contact us by phone or email. We will aim to contact you either by email or by phone (whichever is your preference) within five working days to arrange an initial free 30 minute telephone call. If you agree, you may be sent a form to complete prior to the call which can give us an initial general indication of what support you are looking for. You can also use this form to highlight any initial questions you have.
Following the call, should we agree that an initial appointment would be indicated, then we will arrange an appointment time with you. Prior to the initial appointment, if you have consented, you will be emailed a therapy contract. Please ensure that you have read the therapy contract - this is an important document and should be read in conjunction with the Privacy Notice on this website. Should you have any questions about it or do not agree with it, please contact us to discuss this prior to the appointment. Given that an encrypted email service is not used at this time, a paper copy can be signed at the first appointment should you not wish to return the signed contract prior to the appointment. Treatment cannot proceed in the absence of a therapy contract.
If you have not consented to receive forms by email, we will discuss alternatives to this.
Unless otherwise agreed, the initial appointment will be at the Fiveways Hub, 360B Ditchling Road. Rooms are booked to start on the hour and sessions will be 50 minutes long. Please arrive for your session on the hour as there is no waiting room and clients may still be in session prior to this time.
At the appointment, we will collect further contact information and start to consider further the difficulties that you have been experiencing.
Should we agree to continue treatment then further appointment times will be confirmed.
CBT is a focussed therapy and treatment length varies depending on complexity and difficulty. We would recommend considering sessions in blocks of 6, with each sixth session being a review where progress can be considered and a discussion on whether therapy would be helpful to continue at that stage.
If you are self-funding, the cost of an initial 50 minute appointment is £45. This price is set lower to take into consideration that you may not be proceeding with further sessions following this appointment. This would be in the event that CBT might not be indicated for the difficulties that you are experiencing at this time, or Happier Self CBT cannot provide the service that you are after.
Should we agree that it will be helpful to proceed with further assessment and treatment sessions, the cost is £75 per session. If you are self funding, we request that payment is made by BACS transfer at least 24 hours prior to the session.
Please be aware that if you cancel a session with less than 24 hours notice then payment for the session will be required.
If you are a BUPA member, the therapy fee has been set by the insurer. Please be aware of your cover limits and any excesses.
